Our story

SemFio Networks was founded in Canada in 2014 by François Vergès. The vision of the company has always been focus on the people, focus on the end users. Our job is to provide a reliable Wi-Fi network so that people are always able to communicate.

Today, we are recognized as trusted Wi-Fi Engineers and have been serving customers in many countries around the world working on exciting and challenging environments.

Passion for the Wi-Fi technology as well as a deep sense of care have helped us excel in the services we provide.

A team of experts

Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) is the highest certification in the Wi-Fi industry. SemFio Networks has two of them, and they do the engineering work themselves.

François Vergès

CWNE #180 — Owner & Principal Wi-Fi Engineer

François Vergès is a Wireless Network Engineer and the founder of SemFio Networks. Trained in France in network and telecommunications engineering, he moved to Canada, started as a Network Engineer, and quickly found his passion in Wi-Fi. He founded SemFio Networks to help businesses get the best out of their Wi-Fi networks, and is now recognized as one of the most respected Wi-Fi engineers in the world.

He has taught Wi-Fi technology to countless networking professionals, with a talent for making complex topics simple. He also co-hosted the popular Wi-Fi podcast Clear To Send, co-producing over 400 episodes. Today he works with large organizations to make Wi-Fi work in the most complex environments.

Amin SedighFar

CWNE #622 — Lead Wi-Fi Engineer

Amin leads engineering on our most complex projects: predictive modelling, AP-on-a-stick, active and passive surveys, spectrum analysis, packet captures, validation testing, and on-site support for live events. Hospitals with telemetry and RTLS, 1,000-seat lecture halls, warehouses full of metal and moving inventory where coverage maps stop being the answer.

He came to Wi-Fi from telecommunications: ten-plus years on telecom equipment, SCADA, routing and switching, and cellular from GSM to 5G. He troubleshoots the same way. Amin also teaches part-time at Humber Polytechnic: wireless data networks, telecommunications, and Python. He writes technical white papers, speaks at industry events, and builds the automation and AI tooling that takes repetitive work off our engineers' desks.
